About FBC Calumet City
FBC Calumet City is first and foremost a Christian Church. The church as it stands now was built in 1959. FBC Calumet City is a self governing church under the direction of God through her current Pastor Rev. Bill Whitford, and congregation. FBC Calumet City is congregational in its polity, meaning decisions are made by current members in good standing. FBC identifies, by her own free choice, denominationally with the Southern Baptist Convention, The Illinois State Baptist Convention and locally with Three Rivers Baptist Association.
A Little About What We Believe and Teach
FBC Calumet City is a God-oriented, Bible believing and based, Gospel preaching, believing, and practicing Church. We believe we are one race of people. We believe that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. We believe that each person claiming Jesus Christ as their Savior should live life according to Jesus’ teachings. We believe that worship and Bible study are important as an expression of thanks and key to our continually growing relationship with Him. We believe Jesus will return at anytime.
About Pastor Bill Whitford
Pastor Bill has been the Pastor of FBC since March of 1997. He has been married for 46 years to his wife Sun. Together they have two adult children. Prior to his call into ministry Pastor Bill served in the US Army and worked in the AC and heating fields. Pastor Bill holds a BA in Philosophy and Religion from Louisiana College in Pineville LA, and a Master’s Of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City MO.
